As a Backend Developer at Lightbase, I am responsible for the development and maintenance of the server-side applications. This includes designing and implementing APIs to allow communication between the frontend and the backend, as well as integrating the backend with third-party services. In this role, I also play a key role in the development of server-side logic and ensure that the backend of the application is scalable and secure. Additionally, I am always seeking ways to optimize the backend to improve the overall performance and user experience of the application. This is mostly done through collaboration with Team Core, which is focused on standardization and documentation.

Education

February 2018 - August 2018
University of Amsterdam

M.Sc. in Software Engineering (not finished)

I had already learned how to code and gained the necessary theoretical and practical experience over the years. However, I wanted to take my skills as a software engineer to the next level and learn what is going on some abstractions deeper. I took a look at compiler theory and wanted to find out how I could apply this in my daily job as a programmer.

February 2016 - July 2016
University of Amsterdam

Minor Programming

As part of my Bachelor of Science degree, I was required to complete a minor program. Knowing that I wanted to apply for an M.Sc. in Software Engineering next, I wanted to follow an academic program at that university. During the minor, we had to create a Python program that implemented a multidimensional heuristics-based shortest path algorithm. This program represented a multi-layer silicon chip with many gates, but without the traces between them.

BASc in Software Engineering
